Discover curated Sababa wine from fruit to bottle

2022 Sababa Cabernet Savignon

Sababa Cabernet Sauvignon is a boutique, small-production wine crafted from organically grown grapes harvested in 2022 at Kairos Vineyard in Napa Valley. After fermentation, the wine matured for 18 months in American oak barrels, allowing depth, structure, and complexity to fully develop. Produced in a California-French full-bodied style, Sababa balances Napa richness with refined elegance. With only 300 bottles made, this limited release represents a rare expression of the 2022 vintage. The inaugural offering will be released in January 2025.

I still remember making Moscato with my grandfather in the mountains of Kazakhstan, sneaking tastes of the sweet, macerating grapes that made my face curl with happiness. I was ten years old, and that was the first moment I fell in love with wine.

Years later, after building a career on Wall Street and then becoming an entrepreneur in the emerging world of crypto and digital assets, I dreamed of creating a wine of my own, not the sweet style I adored as a child, but a serious, bold expression from Napa Valley. I travelled there often, meeting winemakers and producers, learning first-hand what I admired in their craft. I completed coursework in viticulture and vinification, and in 2021 finally committed to producing my first small batch.

Working closely with Eric at Judd’s Hill Winery, I was hands-on through every step, from harvest and crush to fermentation, barrel selection and aging.

Today, I am incredibly proud to share Sababa Cabernet 2022 with you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I’ve loved bringing it to life.

Sababa Cabernet opens with inviting aromas of black cherry, cassis, and ripe plum, accented by subtle hints of vanilla, cocoa, and toast from its 18 months in American oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and layered, showing a plush core of dark fruit supported by refined tannins and balanced acidity. Notes of blackberry, dark chocolate, and toasted oak unfold with air, leading into a long, elegant finish with lingering spice and a touch of minerality.

Crafted in a California-French style, this is a rich yet polished expression of Napa Cabernet: opulent in fruit, structured in form, and graceful in its evolution.
